I used to season tournment bowler and league bowler in my junior days. However, i have yet to bowl a tournment in my adult bowling career. So its been almost two years since my return of bowling. So i saw a tournment will be held on the 4th of july and i dont have to work that day. So i decided to give it a try.
When i arrived there about a hour and half early. They were in the second game of the no tap tournement . I went ahead and checked in and were assigned lanes 19-20 and we would move after each game to the pair to our right. This was 5 game tournment and handicap.
So i had a little butterflies in my stomache like i never have bowled or was nervous. They turned on practice about 1220 for 15 minutes. Long practice and i was all over the place i could settle down to make a squality shot. I was missing my target left and right and over throwing the ball. So i thought it was just jutters and would settle down when competeion began.
First Game: I couldnt settle downa nd was missing my target and jsut all over the place. Had 3 opens all splits but not enough strikes. While guy on same pare just strung a8 bagger to finish with a 266. Me i finished with a 149.
Game 2: Moved to 21-22. Lanes seem a little better. I was trying to settle down more but made too many mistakes again. Two Opens missed ten pin and pulled ball in the 10th resulting in 3 count on first ball. Ended up witha 175
Game3: Moved to Lanes 23-24.Getting better. Though opens killed me this game. Chopped 2-4-7 , wiffed the 10 pin, and split in 10th for 192
Game 4: Moved to 25-26. Best Game of the day. Only 1 open wiffed 10 pin for a 233.
Game 5: Moved to 27-28. Just too many mistakes and opens game and ran out of gas. Choped the 3-6-10 and 1-2 spares. Back to back spliuts in the 9th and 10th for a 148 game.
Scratch Series: 896
Hadicap Series: 1066
Didnt place but was off 113 pin from placing. Top 15 placed and wont money.
